What Appointment Prep Does

Appointment Prep helps you turn your journal into a clearer visit summary. It is designed to support better conversations with a clinician by keeping your own records organized.

It helps you:

  • save important notes
  • keep questions for a clinician in one place
  • choose a date range for review
  • generate an editable summary
  • share text or export a clinician PDF

Best Routine Before an Appointment

The best summaries usually come from steady daily logging, not last-minute memory.

A practical routine:

  1. Log symptoms when they happen.
  2. Log related food, medication, mood, and notes on the same day when relevant.
  3. Mark especially important notes as you go.
  4. Save clinician questions when they occur to you.
  5. Review Weekly Summary each week.
  6. Before the appointment, generate a summary for the last 30 to 90 days, or use a custom range.

What Can Appear in the Summary

Depending on what you logged, the summary can pull together:

  • main concerns from logged symptoms
  • timeline highlights
  • medication summary
  • food and context notes near symptom days
  • important notes
  • questions for a clinician

The summary is editable before you share it.

What Sharing Includes

Jornal currently offers two different kinds of sharing:

  • Appointment Prep summary and clinician PDF. These are designed to be readable discussion documents.
  • Optional custom-graph pages from saved Insight graphs in the clinician PDF, when that extra context is useful.
  • Broader exports. These can include the underlying records that support charts and timelines.

Need an Event-Focused Version Instead?

If you are preparing for an upcoming race or other event rather than a clinician visit, Event Prep offers a separate workflow for user-set carbohydrate, hydration, or sleep targets, focused prep notes, and an editable event summary.

Important Note

Appointment Prep is meant to help you review your own records or share them with a clinician. It does not diagnose conditions or provide treatment advice.
