Privacy Approach

Jornal is designed around private, user-controlled record-keeping.

Jornal's core workflow is built for personal tracking and review. Basic use does not require a Byldya.com account, and Byldya does not store personal Jornal records on Byldya.com.

Some optional features may use external data sources or integrations, but those are separate from the main logging flow.

Protected Sections

When you want extra protection, selected sections can be protected behind device authentication. This can help when you want stronger separation around sensitive diary areas.

Backups

Backups are there to help you keep a secure copy of your records outside the device.

Helpful reminders:

  • keep backup passwords somewhere safe
  • check what type of export you are creating
  • choose date ranges and categories carefully before sharing

Shareable Exports

Jornal can also create shareable exports when you want a broader record set beyond an appointment summary.

These can be useful for:

  • personal review outside the app
  • record-keeping
  • sharing selected logs with a clinician or caregiver
  • working with the underlying data behind charts and timelines

Optional Integrations

Some features can use external data sources or integrations where supported, but the main journaling workflow is designed to stand on its own.

Nutrition photo capture may send non-personal product, barcode, packaging, label, or nutrition information to Open Food Facts to enhance its nutrition database. Byldya may also store non-personal product and nutrition information to improve Jornal's nutrition data. Do not include faces, people, addresses, receipts, medical documents, or other personal information in nutrition photos.
