Feature Summary

Choir Music is an iPad-first app that also supports iPhone layouts for managing choir scores, marking them up, organizing sing lists and collections, rehearsing with practice tools, and keeping choir material reliable offline.

• Import PDF, MusicXML (.musicxml), compressed MusicXML (.mxl), ChordPro, plain text, supported image scores, local audio files, annotation sidecars, sing-list packages, Choir packages, photos, and scanned pages.
• Supported image score formats include JPG/JPEG, PNG, TIF/TIFF, HEIC, and HEIF.
• Use bulk import review for multiple incoming scores, variants, sidecars, or packages.
• Scan printed scores into PDF using the built-in document scanner.
• Search, sort, and filter by title, composer, arranger, season/category, voicing, key, language, section, tags, collection, licence status, favourites, and text-note content.
• Organize repertoire with collections as well as sing lists.
• Edit score metadata, copyright/licence details, rehearsal defaults, audio links, score variants, offline readiness, crop, rotation, and start position.
• Recover accidentally removed scores from Deleted Items before permanent deletion.
• Open scores in a dedicated viewer with single-page, continuous vertical, and two-page spread layouts.
• Read PDF, MusicXML, text, ChordPro, and image-derived score files with format-aware rendering.
• Use MusicXML display tools for written pitch, concert pitch, and semitone transposition.
• Switch between primary and alternate score variants such as full score, vocal score, conductor score, SATB part, accompanist part, piano/organ part, lyrics, or custom parts.
• Restore saved page and viewport state when premium reading-position tools are available.

• Back up and restore the library with iCloud when Premium and CloudKit are available.
• Export and restore a portable local .choirmusicbackup file without relying on iCloud.
• Find and clean up duplicate scores.
• Adjust app language, appearance mode, app colour palette, score overlay, annotation colours, viewer preferences, auto-scroll button colour, Apple Pencil behaviour, and reader keyboard/pedal bindings.
• Set up choir profile, role, section, and roster details used by permission-controlled features.
• Send diagnostic email from Settings when import, sharing, backup, collaboration, or safe-mode issues need troubleshooting.
• Start with a 2-week full-feature trial.
• After the trial, keep up to 5 active scores on the free tier with reading and annotation still enabled for those scores.
• Scores outside the active set stay in the library but become locked instead of being deleted.
• Free-tier users can swap which scores are active up to 4 times per rolling 12-month period.
• New score imports are blocked when the free score limit is full.
• Sing lists are available during the trial and with Premium.
• Premium removes the active-score cap and swap limit, and keeps sing lists, backup, collaboration, saved reading-position tools, sharing workflows, and other premium features available.
