Jornal is a private health journal for keeping meals, symptoms, medications, notes, mood, cycle entries, hydration, and related context together in one place. It is designed for personal record-keeping, review, and appointment preparation.

Jornal does not diagnose conditions or replace a clinician. Insights, summaries, and pattern views should be treated as observations from your journal.

Start Simple

You do not need to use every feature on day one.

A good starting setup is:

  1. Complete your profile in Settings.
  2. Choose the diary sections you want to use.
  3. Start logging meals, water, and symptoms.
  4. Add notes or tags when something feels important.
  5. Review your week before trying to draw bigger conclusions.

Use the Diary as Your Daily Home Base

The Diary is where daily records come together on one timeline.

Depending on your setup, you can log:

  • meals and drinks
  • water intake
  • symptoms
  • mood, energy, and stress
  • medications and supplements
  • cycle entries
  • journal notes
  • sleep, activity, and measurements

This works best when you log important events close to when they happen instead of rebuilding the day from memory later.

Food Logging Options

Jornal supports multiple food-entry paths so you can use whatever is easiest in the moment:

  • search saved foods, recipes, and supported food sources
  • reuse favorites or recent entries
  • scan packaged foods by barcode
  • use Scan Meal for mixed dishes
  • create or edit manual entries when needed

Recipes can also be saved and reused later, which helps if you regularly cook the same meals.

Add Useful Context Around Symptoms

Symptom records are usually more useful when they sit beside the rest of the day.

Helpful related context can include:

  • timing and severity
  • nearby meals or drinks
  • medication timing
  • mood, energy, or stress
  • cycle timing
  • short notes about routine changes
  • repeated tags such as travel, poor sleep, exercise, or late meal

The goal is to create a clearer record of what was logged near the symptom, not to prove that one thing caused another.

Track Medications and Reminders

Jornal can also help you keep a clearer medication and supplement record.

You can use it to:

  • add medications and supplements
  • log taken, pending, or skipped entries
  • review timing beside symptoms, meals, and notes
  • use reminders when they fit your routine

This can help you prepare for review and discussion, but it is not medication advice.

Review Your Week and Longer-Term Patterns

Two built-in review tools are especially useful:

  • Weekly Summary for a quick 7-day check-in
  • Insights for longer-range charts and observations from your journal

These views can help you review:

  • symptom burden over time
  • mood and energy changes
  • food context near symptom days
  • treatment timing and adherence context
  • cycle-linked patterns
  • hydration, sleep, weight, activity, and measurements when available

Treat these as prompts for review, not medical conclusions.

Prepare for Appointments

Appointment Prep helps turn your journal into something easier to discuss with a clinician.

It can help you:

  • save important notes
  • keep clinician questions together
  • choose a date range
  • generate an editable summary
  • share a summary or clinician PDF

The clearest appointment summaries usually come from steady daily logging over time rather than last-minute recall.

Privacy, Exports, and Backup

Jornal is designed as a local-first app. Core use does not require a Byldya.com account, and Byldya does not store personal Jornal records on Byldya.com.

Users can also use in-app tools for:

  • exports
  • encrypted backups
  • restore flows
  • privacy and data controls
  • optional integrations such as Apple Health and supported external lookups

If you share an export, backup, or summary with another person or service, that recipient's privacy practices may also apply.
